Tom Vaccaro

Tom Vaccaro is a twice Emmy nominated Art Director in Davenport, IA. He spent 17 years in television broadcasting at both the NBC and ABC affiliates and at INN in the Quad Cities. Tom designed and built sets, produced print advertising for the Programming, Promotion and Sales Departments and created news graphics and animations.

As a graphic designer he created everything from corporate identities and outdoor advertising to retail window displays and stained glass windows. For DUEA Films of Rome, Italy, he was the set dresser for two feature films and art director for a third.

In the fine art world, portraits are Tom’s specialty and passion. While he has created many likenesses of people and pets in his hometown Quad City area, Tom is most proud to say that his work also hangs in the homes of such notables as Ringo Starr, Mickey Rooney, the Smothers Brothers, Bill Cosby, Kenny Rogers and Olivia Newton-John. His portraits afforded him opportunities to become acquainted with legends such as Red Skelton, Milton Berle and Bob Hope and Paul McCartney owns five of Tom’s creations.
